The Logis de Canteau is a delightful 5 bedroom, 17th century riverside manor house set in breath-taking scenery with broad trees, streams, a heated pool and wooded walks with plenty of hammocks to idle away the afternoons after a splendid lunch outside in the cool courtyard.
The house is situated in over a hectare of grounds at the edge of a small hamlet in Deux Sevres.
It is a tranquil setting in which to enjoy nature with friends and family; plenty of space to congregate as well as hideaway places to retreat; original stone spiral staircase, a huge studio-cum-playroom, a well-stocked library and TV snug, baby grand piano and well-equipped kitchen. There is a ground floor access bedroom and bathroom for those with limited mobility. All in all quite perfect for three generation holidays!
We spent 5 nights in Logis de Canteau with 9 people. The photographs are a good indication, but can’t justify the true atmosphere and beauty of the place. It was beyond expectation; the house, the garden and the swimmingpool. Tess is a fantastic host and her hospitality made our trip even more memorable.Ji Mei, July 2020
This is a truly wondrous place to stay, such a lovely vibe, plenty of creature comforts. The pool and grounds are excellent – so much space for wandering, exploration and play. There’s a perfect little spot beneath the trees, beside the river, to put down a yoga mat and commune with nature. The house itself is glorious, lots of ambience and distinctive features. It is both spacious and cosy. It’s a luxuriously relaxing place for a family or group holiday.Julia D
